Our Therapists

ANDREW EDGAR, LCPC

I believe that therapy should be a healing process to help address a wide variety of issues in our lives. The client-therapist relationship is a key component to successful growth and healing. I strive to offer an eclectic approach to therapy to meet each client’s specific needs. I work with my clients and meet them where they are in life, helping them develop a plan of action to address their individual needs. I will work with everyone to find their strengths, help them grow, and achieve their life goals. My goal is to offer each client access to mental and emotional healing so he or she can live a happy and healthy life.

Andrew graduated from Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin in 2009 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. He moved back to Montana in 2010, where he started working at the Montana Developmental Center in Boulder, Montana. There, he learned to work with adults with Developmental Disabilities. In October 2014, he transitioned to the Montana Employee Health Center, where he worked with State of Montana employees on stress management, tobacco cessation, anxiety, depression, and a variety of other areas. In 2015, he started working with Counseling Associates part-time and transitioned to working full-time private practice in February 2016. His private practice is currently in a handicap accessible building. Available hours vary depending upon need.

I specialize in areas of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, stress management, trauma, abuse, sexual offending behaviors, life transition issues, as well as grief and loss. I completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training in July 2017, through the EMDR Institute. I can use EMDR to treat a wide variety of issues, including symptoms of trauma, complex trauma, dissociation, anxiety, stress, and impulsive behaviors. I have completed advanced EMDR training, focusing on Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Dissociative Disorder, and continue to seek out and participate in advanced EMDR training and consultation with the goal to become certified as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist.

I am a clinical member of MSOTA (Montana Sex Offender Treatment Association) as well as a clinical member of ATSA (Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers). I can treat individuals convicted of sexual offenses through both individual and group therapy to assist them in living a healthier and safer life.
